Creativity Concept Based Unit
In this unit, students had the opportunity to explore what creativity is and is not. Students practice ways to become more creative, such as SCAMPERing. As a culminating project, students used their creativity to make holiday and thank you cards for the residents at the Veterans Home just down the street from our school.
STANDARDS: SL 3.1-Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade 3 topics and texts, building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly. L.3.3-Use knowledge of language and its conventions when writing, speaking, reading, or listening. RI 3.1-Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers. SL.5.1-Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions Mathematical Practice Mathematical Practice #1-8. Technology #5: Practice safe use of technology systems and applications. Technology #8: Collect information from a variety of digital sources. Technology #10: Use digital environments to collaborate and communicate. Technology #11: Use digital tools to analyze authentic problems. Technology #12: Create a product using digital tools.
